Hi, this is Me.
I love to bake. My very first job was in a retail bakery and I stayed there for many years working my way up from a cashier position to the Bakery Manager. I loved the interactions with regular customers, early morning hours, the smell of fresh coffee constantly brewing and, of course, baking things. But eventually, I made the decision to get into the Insurance industry instead. I’ve been crying ever since…
I decided to start my own baking blog when I began to notice that my personal blog was easier to write when I was talking about baking stuff. I also love taking pictures, especially very detailed and close up macro shots. I realized my favorite style of photography lent itself well to the food blogging world. I knew what I wanted to do… and that’s how Something Sweet** by Karen began.
Because this blog is still so new, I’m not sure what direction it will end up going in. The most important thing is I’ll be back in the kitchen on a regular basis. And that’s all that matters to me. Oh, and the quality control part where I get to taste test everything. 
**After every meal I have I guess I always mutter the words “Now I need something sweet” which I recently found out really annoys all my friends and family.

Thanks, Danielle! I mostly use a Canon Digital Rebel with an EF 50 mm macro f/2.5 lens. Or sometimes my cheap little Canon Powershot which also works great on the macro setting. No, I hadn’t heard of that other blog but I checked it out and her photos are amazing.

When I read your last statement about needing something sweet – it hit me with memories of my Grandmother. She would say to us after dinner, “don’t you think we need something sweet?” I still feel the same way as an adult…even if its just a couple bites….it is something sweet!
